ADULT MINISTRIES

Our priority for spiritual growth is that each member and visitor participate in a community of fellow disciples to grow deeper in faith. That community comes in a variety of ways, including Sunday School classes, ongoing small groups, book and Bible studies, music ministry, and fellowship groups.

Music Ministry

The music Downtown is warm, inspirational, and an integral part of how we worship. We use the organ, piano, and choir, and sing hymns and anthems. Special services throughout the year include our Service of Nine Lessons and Carols, Christmas Eve, and a Good Friday Service of Tenebrae, and we periodically have student groups from the University of Kentucky participate in services or present concerts.

Our Chancel choir and handbell choir do not require auditions and are committed to regular serving in worship as well as to supporting and encouraging one another.

Our Voices Choral Concert Series is a gift of music to the community. Regular presenters in the series include our own Chancel Choir and orchestra, the Lexington Singers, and student groups from UK.
