Through serving, we use gifts and graces and resources to be a part of God’s plan for the world. Individuals serve in many ways in and through our Downtown community: as teachers, church leaders, landscapers, tutors and by feeding the hungry, building homes, caring for children.
Below are some of our “mission moments” in which share some of the ways we partner with our downtown Lexington neighbors to do good in our community.
With God’s blessing, Downtown has been able to support a variety of missions over the years. We know many worthy needs deserve financial support. Our congregation has many different interests and each parishioner may have personal interests as well. The Serve Team was created to examine the needs of our community and the interests of Downtown, devise a process for applicants and develop guidelines for deciding how to distribute the generous, but limited, financial gifts from our congregation. While these may be evolving tasks, we hope that all those involved find it helpful.
